Important Notice For Foreign Nationals - Policy of the Replacement and Issuance of the New UI No.

  1. Dear valued customers: Thanks for your continued support to CHANG HWA COMMERCIAL BANK, LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “the Bank”). 
  1. In response to the Ministry of the Interior of the R.O.C.(Taiwan) on the policy of the replacement and issuance of the new UI No. for foreign nationals, if the UI No. you have kept in the Bank has not been updated, you can apply for modification via either of the following ways:
    1. Fill in the application form which can be downloaded from the Bank’s website (https://www.bankchb.com) and fax or post it to any branch of the Bank together with the copy of the certificate or instrument which contains the new UI No.. The information of fax number and branch address can be referred to the inside page of the passbook or the Bank’s website (https://www.bankchb.com).
    2. Visit any branch of the Bank in person with the original of the certificate or instrument which contains the new UI No..
  1. Required Documents

    1. Foreign nationals who have already held the resident certificate or other certificates (including foreigners, residents of Hong Kong and Macau, people of the Mainland Area and nationals without household registration in Taiwan):
      1. The resident certificate replaced and issued by the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior shall be provided.
      2. Representatives of foreign missions in Taiwan, their spouses and their lineal relative shall provide the identification card for officials of foreign missions in the Republic of China and the courtesy visa replaced and issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    2. Foreign nationals who have no domicile in Taiwan (including foreigners, residents of Hong Kong and Macau, people of the Mainland Area and nationals without household registration in Taiwan):
      1. Foreigners, residents of Hong Kong and Macau and nationals without household registration in Taiwan who do not hold the resident certificate: shall provide the (foreign) passport with legal entry visa (or stamp) or the Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificates issued by the Overseas Community Affairs Council, and the Record of UI No. in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
      2. People of Mainland China who do not hold the resident certificate: shall provide the entry and exit permit issued by the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior and the Record of UI No. in the Republic of China (Taiwan).

    The Attentions
    1. The change of the new UI No. will not affect the use of your account withdrawal password which you have agreed with the Bank and of the ATM Card you have held.
    2. If you have applied for the service of Personal Internet Banking (including Chang Hwa Commercial Bank's mobile network), please enter the original UI No. while you log in to your Personal Internet Banking account on the day which you changed to the new UI No. with the Bank. From the next day, you shall log in with the new UI No.. If you have already applied for the service of Omamori guard, you need to log in to the Internet Banking account to re-bind from the next day of the date which you change to the new UI No.; if you have already applied for an electronic certificate, you need to go to the branch and re-apply for a personal certificate from the next succeeding business day of the date which you change to the new UI No. with the Bank.
    3. Customers who have applied for non-discretionary money trust business shall contact the financial management officer to open an account with the new UI No. and fill in the relevant account opening documents. Please note that you may not apply for any subscription or other transactions with the new UI No. until the UI No. of the agreed deposit/debit account for trust investments has been also changed. The trust balance may not be redeemed with the new UI No. until the conversion of data has been completed by the Bank.
    4. In order to protect your rights and interests, if you have agreed with the Bank on the direct debit/credit of your account (such as credit card deduction, payroll transfers, and tax payment/refund for income tax declaration, etc.), please confirm that it has been changed to the new UI No. by relevant entity, so as not to affect the operation of the direct debit/credit.

  1. 2.In order to protect your rights and interests, please remind that the UI No. you use for tax declaration this year shall be the same as the one which financial institution kept.
